Eight people died and one was injured in a traffic accident on Friday morning in Weichang Man and Mongolian Autonomous County, north China's Hebei Province, local authorities said.
At around 8:30 a.m. on Friday, a van veered into the opposite lane while overtaking a car, colliding with a truck.
The injured was sent to the hospital for treatment and is in stable condition. Further investigation is underway.
